Town's worst display for some months allowed Norwich City to win the first East Anglian derby of the season 2-0. Leon McKenzie scored in each half, the first controversial after the ball was knocked from keeper Kelvin Davis' hands, and the second the result of non-existent Town defending.

Town striker Alun Armstrong had a minor operation after receiving a deep cut to his leg during last night's 3-0 reserve defeat to Tottenham. Armstrong was badly challenged by Spurs' keeper Rob Burch in the first half of the game at Stevenage.

Town fought back from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Derby County at Pride Park. Goals from Peter Kennedy and Daniele Dichio inside a minute just before the break put the home side ahead. A penalty from Tommy Miller and a header from Darren Bent won the Blues the point.

Town boss Joe Royle will wait before deciding whether central defender John McGreal is fit enough to replace the suspended Richard Naylor at Derby on Saturday. McGreal, yet to feature this season, played the full 90 minutes for the reserves last night but didn't train today as a precaution.

A disappointing defensive performance from Town condemned them to their second home defeat of the season, Gillingham running out 4-3 winners. The Blues were never in front but levelled at 1-1 and 3-3, through Westlake, Couñago and Miller, Gills' sub Mark Saunders winning the three points late on.
